Jaimie Alexander is reprising his favorite fan role as Sif in Thor 4: Love and Thunder, Deadline reports.
Alexander last appeared as Sif in Thor: The Dark World 2013, where she kicks all kinds of asses alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, all the while quietly worshiping him in a romantic competition with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. Sif was absent from Thor: Ragnarok 2017 due to a scheduling conflict, but she is returning to Thor 4 and potentially even to the Disney Plus Loki series.
Although Sif’s relationship with Thor is not a prominent storyline in Thor: The Dark World, it is possible that Thor 4 further explores the relationship. The title not only includes the word “love”, but director Taika Waititi previously called the film “very romantic”.
“I’m interested in novels now. I just want to do a novel. I just want to do something I never did or never liked. I would like to attack something like that,” he continued.
ICYMI, Thor 4 is bringing back more of a familiar MCU face, as Chris Pratt is also returning as Star Lord. In addition, there is evidence to suggest that Thor 4 could revive Heimdall from Idris Elba, perhaps in an afterlife or flashback sequence, or perhaps just through the good old resurrection.
With Waititi returning to production control, Thor 4 is due to start shooting in Australia in January. And as we recently reported, sources with internal information described Love and Thunder as having “an Avengers 5 feel,” suggesting the possible gathering of multiple MCU players.
