This Xbox Series X walkthrough leaves no stone unturned

The Xbox Series X is almost here, and today Microsoft has given us a long demonstration of its new console. Dubbed the “next generation walkthrough,” the nearly 15-minute video you see below can be described as a comprehensive introduction to the console. In this way, the walkthrough offers a lot of information that we already knew, but as this is a video, we can see many of the features previously revealed in action.

For example, we can see the new Xbox Series X home menu, with a very simple dynamic theme that Microsoft says will be available in several different colors on launch day. It is also important to note that the Xbox Series X home menu does not look very different from the home menu that we are used to seeing on current generation Xboxes, but of course, there are some visual refinements present.

In any case, it doesn’t take long to get into a game, and the first one we see is Gears 5. Although this is a current generation title, we can take a look at part of the texture and frame rate improvements provided by the most powerful hardware in the Xbox Series X. We’ll also see Quick Resume in action and the Auto HDR feature of Xbox Series X running on Subnautica.

In addition to seeing a little gameplay, we also take a look at the new Xbox controller, with slightly improved ergonomics, textured handles and a d-pad similar to the one we saw on the Elite Controller Series 2. Microsoft shows us a demonstration of the button’s functionality sharing on the Xbox controller, giving us a look at how we can share screenshots and clips through the Xbox mobile app.

With previews from the Xbox store, Xbox Game Pass and even a look at the Seagate expansion cards on the Xbox Series X, this walkthrough really covers a lot of ground. You can watch above, but otherwise, look for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S to hit the shelves on November 10th.
