The sensor tower, famous for its application analysis, recently unveiled the “Top apps worldwide for June 2020 by downloads” report, detailing the top app publishers around the world.
According to the report, the main publisher for iOS and Android was Google in June, with more than 317.6 million downloads and a huge increase of 68.5% in the year. After Google, Facebook, Voodoo, Bytedance and Outfit7, we brought together the top five developers globally for the Google Play store.
With regard to iOS, Google also ranked first here, followed by Tencent and Facebook. Although the two stores shared most of the top 10 publishers, Alibaba was exclusive to the top 10 publishers for iOS.
Moving on to the most downloaded apps, TikTok takes the lead, followed by Zoom on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Where YouTube took third place in the App Store, Facebook took third place in general downloads. YouTube fell to 10th place in the overall score, followed by WhatsApp and Instagram in the general category and iOS. Surprisingly, Google Meets beat Instagram in the number of downloads on the Play Store. This is probably the result of work induced by domestic culture due to the ongoing pandemic.
