Oppo launches 5G mid-range Reno3 smartphones

Oppo has finally launched one of its most anticipated and provocative smartphone duo, Oppo Reno 3 and Oppo Reno3 Pro. Both smartphones have 5G connectivity and are the first Oppo smartphones that support the new technology.

The most powerful pro version, besides being powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G, is currently known as one of the thinnest smartphones available with 5G support.

Let’s look at the detailed specifications of par.

Oppo Reno3
Design and exhibition

Although Oppo Reno3 doesn’t look as exciting as Oppo Reno3 Pro, it’s still a pretty reasonable look. The smartphone is available in White, Black, Starry Blue, Sunrise and has a rear camera with four vertically stacked sensors on the left.


The smartphone is built around a 6.4 inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution, 20: 9 aspect ratio, 411 PPI pixel density and a water drop notch to house the selfie camera.

Internal and Storage

As for the guts, the Oppo Reno3 is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1000L which supports 5G connectivity and comes with four Cortex-A77 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. The SoC is covered with Mali-G77, an impressive 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage.

The processor can achieve performance up to 4.7 Gbps and provides support for the full range of 2G to 5G networks, which is why it has been designated by the manufacturer as the “fastest sub-6GHz 5G SoC in the world”. Oppo says the smartphone will perform 20% better than a smartphone with Cortex-A76 cores. Oppo Reno3 also comes with a custom APU 3.0 along with the chipset.

As far as software is concerned, the smartphone runs Android 10 wrapped by the newly released Color OS 7.


The Oppo Reno3 has a camera with four sensors at the rear. The main sensor comes with an image capacity of 48 MP and is behind an f / 1.7 lens with OIS and PDAF support. The 48 MP sensor is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra wide lens, a dedicated 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor.

At the front, the smartphone comes with a unique 32 MP selfie sensor.

Battery and prices

The smartphone is powered by a 4025 mAh battery, supported by the fast charging of VOOC 4.0. It will be available for sale until December 31 and will have the following pricing options.

Oppo Reno3 Pro
Design and exhibition

Between the two, as the name suggests, the Oppo Reno3 Pro is the ultimate version. The smartphone is thinner than its brother and is available in four colors: white, black, starry blue and sunrise. In addition, it also comes in a classic blue variant called Pantone 2020. Compared to the Oppo Reno3, the Oppo Reno3 Pro features a wider camera cutout with a vertically stacked quad-sensor camera.


As far as the display goes, the Oppo Reno3 Pro is built around a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate hole, as promised by Oppo. The fingerprint sensor is mounted under the screen and the panel has a touch detection rate of 180 Hz at 1080p resolution, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and HDR10 + support. The high touch detection rate makes it ideal for gaming as the delay in input is considerably minimized.

Internals and Storage
Turning to the internals, the smartphone, as mentioned, is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675G, covered with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and internal storage of 128 GB or 256 GB. The Pantone 2020 variant comes in 8 GB / 128 GB configuration.

On the front of the software, it runs on Android 10 SkinOS, similar to any other Oppo device.


The Oppo Reno 3 comes with a 64 MP main camera sensor, followed by 13 MP telephoto, 8 MP ultra wide lens and 2 MP black and white lens. The camera also has 5x hybrid zoom. This zoom capability is supported by 2x optical zoom, the rest is done by the software digitally.

On the front, the smartphone has a single 32 MP sensor for its selfies.

Battery and prices

Oppo Reno3 Pro battery specifications are identical to Oppo Reno3. It goes from 0 to 50% in 20 minutes. According to Oppo, the battery in both smartphones is equipped to handle 5G networks.

Different memory variants are priced as follows:
