MULTAN: Eight more patients with coronavirus died at Nishtar Hospital, Multan, on Thursday. According to hospital officials, the coronavirus has claimed 97 lives in the past 21 days.
Authorities said Bashir Ahmed, 65, Siddique Ahmed, 50, Musarat Javed, 45, Mrtaza, 38, Sugran Bibi, 58, Shamshad Bibi, 75, Javed Akhtar, 60, all from Multan and Haq Nawaz, 45 from Muzaffargarh. positive for the virus and were admitted to the hospital where they died during treatment.
Eleven new coronavirus patients were reportedly admitted to Nishtar Hospital and the number of patients increased from 220 to 231 during the past 24 hours. The hospital has allocated 294 beds for patients with coronavirus. Coronavirus tests on 2,000 people were conducted in public and private hospitals in the Multan division during the past 24 hours and 236 people tested positive.
In the Multan district, 184 people were tested positive for the virus and reports of 16,013 people were expected.
In Khanewal district, 18 people tested positive for coronavirus in 321 and reports from 224 people were expected.
In the Lodhran district, coronavirus tests on 204 people were conducted and 27 tested positive for the virus, and reports from 2,592 people were expected.
In Vehari district, seven people tested positive for the virus in 378 people and reports from 1,049 people were expected.
