Cyberpunk 2077 is turning into a massive game and it is quite common for games of this scope to experience delays throughout the development process. Cyberpunk 2077 has been postponed twice now – originally scheduled for release on April 16, 2020, the game was postponed first to September 17 and then again to November 19, which is the current release date.
Of course, Cyberpunk’s delays are not entirely due to the scope of the game, as we also have to thank the COVID-19 pandemic for further complicating things. If you were concerned that Cyberpunk 2077 might miss this new November 19 release date and suffer yet another delay, you can breathe easy, as CD Projekt RED CFO Piotr Nielubowicz indicated that all systems are ready for this new release date .
“As you know, we are in a very exciting time,” said Nielubowicz in a financial briefing video for investors, which you can see above. “When we find ourselves in this format again, Cyberpunk 2077 will have already been released, so keep your fingers crossed and tune in to the next Night City Wire broadcasts!”
In fact, CD Projekt RED will certainly want to keep the November 19 release date in any way possible, because delaying the game means missing out on the ever-important Christmas shopping season. Nielubowicz’s confidence that Cyberpunk 2077 will be released when he delivers his next financial briefing is probably very comforting for fans who have been waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 since it was revealed in 2012.
Now that we’ve arrived in September, Cyberpunk 2077 is on the horizon, but there will almost certainly be a lot more teasers and trailers coming from the people at CD Projekt RED. We’ll let you know when the company reveals more information, so stay tuned.
