Becoming wealthy is not an easy task. To get rich, you have to sacrifice many things. You have to learn continuously.
When you see a billionaire, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Let me guess, they live a better life, they get everything they want, they would like to have that life, etc. But if you are going to become RICH, you need specific skills to pay the bills.
The rich are differentiated by the skills they have. These skills are so well crafted that not everyone realizes them. These skills made them rich in the first place.
Now you can say: “lack of money is a problem”. Well, lack of money is never the problem. The real problem is the lack of skill.
As reported by the BBC, a study found that the richest 1% will soon own more than the rest of the world’s population.
Today I will say that the top 10 must have the skills to become rich. When reading this list, for each skill, I want you to ask yourself where you are on a scale of 0 to 5, so at the end of the list, you should be able to tell which skills you need to develop over time.
10. Time management
Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities. Time management is a beneficial skill to have. Good time management allows an individual to complete more in a shorter period of time, reduces stress levels and leads to career success.
Also, let me tell you the consequences of poor time management. Poor time management will always waste your time. For example, when browsing through social media when doing a task, you get distracted from the task and waste your valuable time.
Sometimes, because you don’t know what to do next, you lose control of your life. Don’t forget the most crucial aspect; Poor time management usually detracts from the quality of your work.
Since managing your time is more about working on your energy, you should look for ways to conserve your body and mind to focus on the project that deserves your greatest attention.
9. Develop self-discipline
It doesn’t matter what you are trying to achieve; If you can’t discipline your actions, you probably won’t. You may ask, “What is discipline?” Discipline is an essential idea in the organization of human activities. In easy words, it is your ability to dig deep within yourself.
If you want to get in shape, it means mastering your daily diet and going to the gym every day; it doesn’t matter what’s going on out there. Discipline means that you will take care of the essential tasks related to your long-term goal before anything else. This may seem easy, but it is the main reason why people fail. They are unable to discipline themselves. How do you develop discipline?
- Ask yourself what you want.
- Remember why you started.
- Wake up and start doing, you will already be motivated.
- Put your goal somewhere where you can see it every day.
- Eliminate distractions.
- Practice prioritizing tasks.
- Start small.
- Write down your progress.
- Get rid of negative people.
- Make friends hold you accountable.
The best book I’ve ever read on this subject is No Excuses!: The Power of Self-Discipline, by Brian Tracy.
8. Money management
Money management is the process of saving, making a budget and investing money in the right way. The money management skill is a vital skill to achieve. Because insufficient money management skills can lead to debt cycles and financial difficulties, money management is a strategic technique for making money yield the highest outflow of interest for any amount spent.
It is impossible to get rich without money management skills. Business and investment are a game, and money is how we keep the game’s score. To be financially successful, you need to know how money works. Also, you must have to understand how to control income and expenses.
Another element that you must effectively control is the debt / equity ratio. To achieve big financial goals, you need to know how to contract debt and use it to your advantage competently. The critical word in the world of money is cash flow. And the second most important word is leverage.
7. Stay focused
Everything around you was designed to distract you. We live in an age when attention is the new currency. We see a trend among people that it is increasingly difficult to stay focused. Because every day more and more distractions are coming our way.
Staying focused means staying with the task at hand in a simple way. To continue working for whatever it is, you need to do it and make sure you stay focused on that activity. If you keep something, you keep having it.
There are several ways to stay focused on one thing. The best way to stay focused is to get rid of your distractions. You can stop using your phone or store it elsewhere when doing an important task. But remember, don’t try too hard.
That’s when you can use the Pomodoro technique. This timing method helps to train your brain to stay on task for short periods. It is an easy and effective way to stay focused. All you need to do is set a timer for 25 minutes and get to work. After the bell sounds, take a short 5 minute break. Then repeat this method for 4-5 rounds. After doing four to five rounds, you can take a longer break, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Getting enough sleep is another way to stay focused. You can’t stay focused with sleepy eyes, can you? Sleep 7 to 8 hours every night. And between long tasks, you can take a short 20-minute nap to refresh your brain.
6. Read and read more
Successful people read many books. Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and other billionaires read far more books than the average person. According to Pew Research, the typical American reads about four books a year. Bill Gates told TIME magazine that reading books for more than an hour a day was a critical ingredient in his success.
Although reading is better than watching a video or listening to audiobooks, because the brain processes text differently from video or audio when you watch a video, the information is displayed on the screen. But when you read it, the data is processed internally and correlates with your internal memories and reality. Imagine that you can absorb the knowledge that someone has accumulated over a lifetime in a single week just by reading a book. Reading develops your main asset, which is yourself. I say: “The more you read, the more you learn, and the more you learn, the more you earn”.
5. Long-term focus
Long-term goals are always better than shortcuts. For example, your long-term goals may be to complete all of your GED exams. This may take several years to go to school and study. Going to class next month can be a short-term goal. Or passing an important test can be another short-term goal.
You need to stop looking for shortcuts to quick enrichment methods. It takes years and years of hard work to get rich. Nobody gets rich overnight. You will not like what I am going to say. But it is true that it will take seven to ten years to change your life. To be successful, you need to think about the future and act now, which will have a long-term impact. The faster you realize that there are no shortcuts, the faster you can follow the right path to success. I agree that ten years is a long time. But if you don’t make a plan now, you’ll end up making the same mistakes after ten years.
If you think it is difficult, think about the end result.
4. Sales ability
The ability to sell is the number one skill in business. If you can’t sell, stop thinking about doing business. One of the most important jobs for an entrepreneur is selling; But, unfortunately, selling is a task that people hate. The reason people hate to sell is that they are afraid of being rejected. If you want to become an entrepreneur, you need to focus on selling.
Have you ever realized that everything you do in life is a form of selling from the moment you are born? Life is about interacting with other people, and selling is just convincing someone of the merits of an exchange. To get rich, you will have to convince the other person that everything you are selling is worth exchanging for money.
3. Willingness to make sacrifice
It is no wonder that, in life, great things require great sacrifice in return. This is where you realize that the lifestyle you want does not come for free. There is a saying that I love: “The dream is free, the movement is sold separately!”. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. In life, nothing can be achieved without sacrifice.
2. Inspire those around you
People are attracted to those who inspire others. Inspirational people have a way of attracting people from all walks of life. Inspirational people make others feel good about themselves and, most importantly, help them realize their potential.
Did you watch “The Wolf of Wallstreet”? If so, then you will understand what I am trying to say. Inspirational people can help increase the confidence of others and help them discover their true purpose in life. People follow solid leaders, and if you want to do great things, you need to become one. Your ability to inspire and motivate others can dramatically increase your chances of success.
The best thing to do to become an inspiration is to be genuine.
1. Ability to bring quality people around you
We have often heard that “Your network is your net worth”. If you have the right kind of friends, the right kind of mentors, these people will protect you, help you grow faster, and leverage your knowledge and resources to help you, if necessary. Remember that you are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with. If five poor people surround you, you will be the sixth. If five billionaires surround you, there is a chance that you will be the sixth.
You must find a good mentor because mentors are amazing people who accelerate your growth and help you navigate the world more easily. Because they have traveled the same road that you are about to take.
In this list, we don’t cover everything you need to be a billionaire. But you will get an idea of how and what it takes to become rich in life. I think it is not difficult to become RICH. All you have to do is face your fear. But most people are afraid of their fear. Life will always put pressure on you, and there is nothing you can do about it. But this is how life teaches us the most valuable things in life.
Becoming rich is easier than ever. There are more than 46 million millionaires in the world today. This list will help you get rich. But remember one thing in life: “The journey of wealth is more important than the destination”.
