Opera browser gets a speed boost on M1 Macs

Opera announced that the Opera browser has improved performance on the new Apple M1 Mac computers. Opera now natively supports the newest Apple M1 processors. Apple moved its Intel Mac computers to its own silicon chips, giving you more control over the performance of Mac hardware and software.

Opera said it wants to make the online experience of the M1 Mac user as smooth as possible. With the latest version of Opera, the browser runs twice as fast as the previous generation on new Mac hardware. Opera says this means more immediate access to favorite sites and faster transition to Opera’s integrated features like WhatsApp, Telegram , Twitter and Instagram. All of these features are included in the sidebar.

Opera now also supports custom keyboard shortcuts to quickly access the Flow feature by connecting your computer’s browser to Opera on iOS and Android. Connectivity allows end-to-end encrypted chat with all devices for sending notes, images, links and files. Users can also create shortcuts to the Crypto Wallet integrated in Opera and the Player feature. The Player feature is a gateway to favorite content on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube Music.

Custom keyboard shortcut features can be added by clicking the three-dot icon at the bottom of the Opera browser sidebar. Users can click the three dots icon next to the feature and choose Configure shortcuts. Then, users type their custom shortcut next to the resource.

For those who want more details, Opera offers a full changelog for the latest update here. The update includes several bug patches and other fixes. The latest version is available for download for Mac users now.
