It seems that the brand of mobile games from nubia is slowly growing out of its comfort zone. While its rivals are still busy improving their smartphones, RedMagic is launching itself into accessories and wearables. After the weird-looking Cyberpods headphones last year, the sub-brand launched its first smartwatch last month in China. Now that RedMagic Watch is available for purchase in international markets, hoping to connect RedMagic fans to the growing mobile gaming brand ecosystem.
Truth be told, RedMagic Cyberpods can actually be more interesting than this RedMagic Watch, even if the latter is more practical. While adopting the rod-like design popularized by Apple AirPods, Cyberpods still added their unique touch that really gave the player a vibe. Even the case matches the design language of RedMagic gaming phones.
In contrast, the only thing that will identify RedMagic Watch as part of this realm of mobile gaming is the standard watch face. In terms of design, it looks like any other smartwatch with a circular body and silicone bracelets. There were leather strips announced at the Chinese launch, but these do not appear to be available in the global version.
The RedMagic Watch boasts a 15-day battery and a complete set of health monitoring features. This even includes the detection of oxygen in the blood, which has become of interest to many people today due to the coronavirus COVID-19. The smartwatch, which features a 1.39 inch 454 × 454 circular AMOLED display, is announced to pair easily with a smartphone, provided the smartphone is a RedMagic phone.
Fortunately, RedMagic Watch doesn’t ask for much in return, just $ 99. The smartwatch is available in black and white color options, but these vary depending on the market.
