Nick Jonas to present 2021 Billboard Awards

Nick Jonas will host the Billboard Music Awards on May 23 in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old singer and actor was cast as MC for the show, which will take place on May 23 in Los Angeles.

Billboard shared the news on Twitter, posting a video of Nick with the caption: “Introducing the 2021 presenter @ BBMAs… @nickjonas! Get ready for an amazing night of music on Sunday, May 23 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on NBC. “

In the following article, Billboard said: “This is Jonas’s first time as a presenter for the Billboard Music Awards, which is two years older than him. (He is 28 years old; the program was launched 30 years ago).

“But he had a lot of experience in awards, including partnering with his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, to announce this year’s Oscar nominations.”

Nick – who is replacing Kelly Clarkson as a presenter – joked: “Is it really an honor to have already received the first #BBMAs award of 2021. Best presenter of all time?! Wow! Tune in on May 23 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT on @ NBC. “

Meanwhile, The Weeknd leads the Billboard Music Awards nominations with 16 nods.

The hitmaker’s acclaimed “Save Your Tears” album “After Hours” – which was scorned at the Grammy – is in contention for Top Billboard 200 Album and Top R&B Album.

The 31-year-old megastar is also competing in the categories of Best Male Artist, Best R&B Artist and Best Song of the 100 Best for “Blinding Lights”.

DaBaby is running for 11 awards and Pop Smoke has received 10 nominations posthumously.

Meghan Thee Stallion managed nine nods, including Top Rap Song and Top Selling Song from “Savage”.

The hitmaker “Hot Girl Summer” will compete against herself in both categories, as her collaboration with Cardi B “WAP” was also nominated for both awards.

Taylor Swift – who is competing for four awards in total – will come face to face with “After Hours” by The Weeknd, “My Turn” by Lil Baby and “Legends Never Die” by Juice WRLD for the album Top Billboard 200.

And the coveted Best Artist award will go to Drake, Juice WRLD, Pop Smoke, Taylor Swift or The Weeknd.
