Dr Mustafa Al Kadhimi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, held talks with UAE leaders on Sunday to strengthen ties between the two sister countries.
Al Khadhimi had arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday morning for an official visit.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Supreme Deputy Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, led a delegation to welcome the Iraqi PM and the delegation that accompanied him on arrival at Abu’s presidential airport Dhabi.
The Iraqi Prime Minister had a red carpet reception, where the United Arab Emirates and Iraq’s national anthems were played, after which the artillery fired a 21-shot salute to the guest.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, also received Al Khadhimi later in the day and tweeted about the negotiations.
