The local sports organization has teamed up with Free Fire’s Garena publisher to host a Battle Royale tournament every week for the next three months, and registration begins this weekend.
Free Fire is one of the most popular mobile games, reaching around 100 million (!) Of global players every day. Garena also recently added dedicated servers in South Africa for that extra low ping convenience.
“Mobile esports and mobile games must be big in Africa, as they are easily accessible to those players who cannot afford a state-of-the-art gaming PC or the latest console,” explains Ekasi Esports creative director, Perfect Zikhali.
After launching the Free Fire SSA Servers, which are accessible to most African countries, Garena has greatly improved the experience in the African Free Fire mobile gaming and competitive esports scene. The Free Fire Series includes 96 player slots available per week, with R400 cash and other prizes to be won. Registration for the next event starts on April 3 on the Ekasi Esports website.
