A 27-year-old salesman in Dubai burnt down his former employer’s textile shop in Naif as revenge, causing Dh1 million in damages.
According to documents from the Dubai criminal court, the seller’s former employer and store owner refused to pay his salary for a year. He also allegedly canceled his residency after telling another employer that he was a fugitive employee.
The man burned the textile shop after he broke into one night trying to steal some money. Finding no money, he set the shop on fire with a lighter, closed the doors and fled the place.
The store owner claimed that he took all the shares from his former employee when checking the CCTV footage after receiving a call saying his store was on fire.
