APPS and 1LINK Partner to Enable E-Commerce Transactions for PayPak Cardholders via PayFast

Avanza Premier Payment Services (APPS) has partnered with 1LINK to enable PayPak – Pakistan’s first and only domestic payment scheme for e-commerce acceptance through PayFast – APPS online payment gateway.

This collaboration will allow PayPak cardholders of participating issuers to conduct e-commerce transactions with more than 100 online APPS merchants through the PayFast gateway. Keeping security first, the PayPak scheme requires all e-commerce transactions to be 3D Secure, where cardholders are authenticated via an OTP for each transaction.

This will substantially decrease the chances of fraud and increase customer confidence when making e-commerce transactions on their PayPak cards. Habib Metropolitan Bank (HMB) will act as the settlement bank for these transactions.

The signing ceremony was held at 1LINK headquarters in Karachi, Pakistan. The Agreement was signed by Mr. Najeeb Agrawalla, CEO 1LINK, Mr. Syed Adnan Ali, CEO APPS, and Mr. Abu Tufail, SEVP HMB, in the presence of senior staff from the organizations.

Mr. Najeeb Agrawalla shared his ideas like, “PayPak – Pakistan’s own domestic scheme achieves this important milestone of enabling e-commerce acceptance through a partnership with APPS. I would like to thank APPS for leading the support and enabling the domestic e-commerce acceptance scheme at its gateway. “

“This is one of the many PayPak e-commerce enablement initiatives and 1LINK is actively engaged to increase the PayPak e-commerce footprint in Pakistan. This training will have a positive impact on the growth of e-commerce in Pakistan, since the 4 Mln + PayPak card base is capable of carrying out transactions on e-commerce platforms, ”he added.

Mr. Arshad Raza, CEO, Premier Systems and President of APPS, stated: “On this important occasion, I am delighted to see key industry players under one roof with the same ambition to bring Pakistan’s Scheme and Gateway to the center attention. This strategic partnership will drive the growth and acceptability of online payments in the country. “

Mr. Abu Tufail, SEVP HMB, stated: “We are proud to see the direction that Pakistan’s digital payment landscape is taking, especially with the introduction of Pakistan’s own payment scheme, PayPak being applicable for online payments via APPS, a PSO / PSP whose potential inclined us to support them in their goal of creating a cashless economy, becoming their settlement bank. “

Mr. Adnan Ali, CEO of APPS, said in a statement: “With this partnership, PayFast will become the first payment portal to accept PayPak cards for online payments, which will further increase our mutual market penetration. Therefore, partnerships between key players in Pakistan’s fintech market are essential to help the country’s population receive all the benefits of modern payment methods. “
