The GMC Hummer SUV is yet to come. However, General Motors is not ashamed to offload all the new ‘tactical technology’ for its next Hummer electric SUV, including the brand’s new off-road trail mapping feature and an available power station generator like the V2L system on Kia’s Hyundai and Ioniq 5 and EV6, respectively.
“GMC’s Hummer EV SUV offers an exceptional balance between on-road performance and off-road capability, enhanced by a unique structure that allows for our unique outdoor experience,” said Hummer EV chief engineer Al Oppenheiser, referring to refer to the Hummer’s removable EV roof panels. Still, the newest electric Hummer will come packed with innovative technological features. “New features debuting in the SUV reinforce its role as a tactical tool in almost every situation,” added Oppenheiser.
The Hummer EV SUV will debut with GMC’s innovative trail mapping system, a new feature included in the updated version of the myGMC mobile app. In addition to helping you plan your next route on or off the road, the system incorporates real-time energy consumption and charging locations. “More than just locating a destination, we help you find an epic destination, create a unique EV navigation experience when you get there and allow you to share your trip with others,” added Mike Colville, senior complex resource manager EV integration and execution in the GMC.
In addition, the Hummer EV SUV’s 20-module Ultium battery pack can function as a portable power station generator, generating enough power to charge electrical appliances and devices while in the desert. It can also ‘charge’ another 240v / 24A / 6kW electric vehicle.
With production expected to start in early 2023, the Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 arrives first with three electric motors, a 20-module Ultium battery, over 300 miles of range and 830 horsepower. The Hummer EV three-engine pickup can pump more power (1,000 horsepower, to be exact) than the Hummer EV three-engine SUV, but it all comes down to batteries.
Since the Hummer EV SUV has a shorter 9-inch wheelbase, it has fewer battery modules than the pickup. But despite that, it produces the same 11,500 foot-pounds of torque on the wheels, which equates to about 1,200 foot-pounds of torque on the crankshaft.
And in the spring of 2023, the Hummer EV 2X SUV will be launched with two electric motors, 625 horsepower and a base price of $ 89,995. He will be accompanied by the $ 99,995 Hummer EV 3X SUV with three electric engines and 830 horsepower. The most affordable Hummer EV SUV is the EV2 finish that arrives in the spring of 2024. Starting at around $ 79,995, it has two electric motors, 625 horsepower and more than 250 miles of range with a Ultium battery pack of 16 standard modules. A battery option of 20 800 V modules with a range of more than 300 miles is also available.
